Marlborough Infant School Together for Excellence

Our School Day

A school day is 6 hours and 25 minutes long (from morning registration until the end of the day) meaning that, in a typical week, children spend 32 hours and 5 minutes at school.

A typical day at Marlborough Infant School consists of:

08:40  -Doors open
08:50  -Registration & morning lessons
10:15  -Break time
10:30  -Morning lessons
12:00  -Lunch time
13:00  -Registration & afternoon lessons
15:15  -Home time

In the mornings, Year 1 and Year 2 children line up in the courtyard before entering school and Year R children will be taken through the side gate (to the right of the school) to their classroom. This is the same for collection after school.

A member of staff will be available each morning to greet your children and take any messages.

From September, to meet the government's expectation of a 32.5 hour 'core' school week, our school day will consist of the the following:

08:35  -Line up in courtyard, children taken into school when ready
08:40  -Children in classrooms
08:45  -Registration (to be completed by 08:50)
15:15  -Home time
