Ofsted Report

Our school was inspected by Ofsted in July 2017 where it was judged to 'Require Improvement'.

This means that the school is not yet a 'good' school and must work towards the priorities outlined by Ofsted in order to secure an overall 'good' judgement. The following strengths were identified through the most recent inspection findings:

  • Pupils' behaviour, welfare and social, emotional and cultural development is good. Children are respectful and the school is a calm, purposeful environment in which to learn.
  • Marlborough Infant School is an inclusive school.
  • The Governing Body and Local Authority have an accurate grasp of the school's strengths and weaknesses.
  • Staff support pupils' personal development well and there are good relationships between staff and pupils.
  • Outcomes in phonics have improved.
  • Children in Year R work well together. They share, take turns and show great levels of perseverance when they are working on their own projects and creations.

The Marlborough Infant School Ofsted Unique Reference Number (URN) is 116143.
